【DETAILS】
Mitake-cho, located in Gifu Prefecture, is a small town that was part of the old Nakasendo Highway that stretched across Japan a long time ago.
The locals of Mitake-cho have taken it upon themselves to try and create a new local delicacy in the form of a sushi that will hopefully become the symbolic food of the area. This rolled sushi, known as hana-zushi (literally “flower sushi”) is a delicious and beautiful dish that has more than 14 different varieties based on flowers.
In this fun and relaxed cooking activity you will learn how to prepare hana-zushi from the local grandmas.
You will have the recipe so you can try at home and prepare sushi for your family and friends after you return home.
During the activity you will try to make various types of hana-zushi, then enjoy them while talking with the locals.
