Hiking in the Sette Fratelli Park on the trail of the Sardinian deer
Cagliari (Italy)
Location
Spend a fascinating day among the granite peaks of the Sette Fratelli Regional Park, a green lung in southeastern Sardinia.
In addition to wild boars, foxes, hedgehogs and numerous birds including the golden eagle, here you can observe the majestic Sardinian deer, an endemic subspecies of the European deer as well as the true master of this natural oasis. Not only the fauna will surprise you, but also the flora: the loop trail winds through the lush vegetation of holm oaks mixed with other Mediterranean scrub including strawberry trees, phillyrea and myrtle, among ancient charcoal farmyards, in which you will also cross a section of the Sentiero Italia. You will enter the great mountainous massif of southeastern Sardinia from which emerges the highest peak of Punta Sa Ceraxa with its 1016 meters above sea level, a place where granite in its multiple lithosculptures will be the main scenery before your eyes.
Get ready for a beautiful adventure and be enchanted by this magical place.
